How to report a wrong figure on SuperX
Found a wrong figure? Use the Report an error link in the About this data block on a data page, name the page and what is wrong, and SuperX checks it against the source.
By the SuperX team · Updated
To report a wrong figure, use the “Report an error” link in the “About this data” block on the page, which opens the contact page, and write to [email protected] naming the page and what is wrong. SuperX checks the claim against the source and corrects the page. Pages that publish PSX prices, charts, dividends, sectors and indices carry that block, with the source, the date, the method, the risk and the correction route.
What do I put in the report?
The contact page asks you to name the page and what is wrong. These details help SuperX find the cause quickly:
- The address of the page, for example
superx.pk/stocks/OGDC/. - The figure you see and the figure you expect.
- Where you got the figure you expect: a PSX page, a company filing or a notice, and the time you read it.
- The “as of” date and time printed on the page, so SuperX can compare like with like.
What should I check first?
Many differences are not errors. Run through these before you write.
- The time. SuperX data is delayed and provided for information only. When prices update and why a price is stale explains why a price can be behind another site’s by minutes, or until the next rebuild.
- The basis. A figure can be filed by a source or derived by SuperX. Two sources can both be right and still differ, for example a dividend yield measured over twelve months against a fiscal year. Where SuperX’s market data comes from explains the basis fields, and how SuperX calculates the dividend yield and P/E gives the arithmetic.
- A quiet share. A price from months ago on a page that says “last traded” is not a stale error. What “last traded” and dormant mean explains it.
If the figure still differs after these checks, report it.
What does SuperX do with a report?
The editorial standards state the rule: SuperX checks the claim against the source and corrects the page. A corrected guide shows an updated date, so a correction is made in the open. Where the source itself is wrong or late, the page is wrong or late too, as the terms of service say.
Pages where SuperX describes a company in words are open to the same report. The KSE-100 company pages carry a short note, written overnight by a language model from the figures of the last close, with the figures beside each sentence. A sentence you think is wrong can be reported in the same way.
