Market cap
What the whole company costs at today's price.
How it's worked out
Share price multiplied by every share in issue.
How to read it
It is the company's size, not its value. A big number does not mean the price is high against earnings, and a small one does not mean it is low — that is what the ratios below are for.
Price per rupee earned
Rupees you pay for each rupee the company earned last year.
How it's worked out
Share price divided by earnings per share over the last twelve reported months.
How to read it
Lower only means something against something — the same company's history, its sector, or the market. On its own this ratio says very little, and it is blank when a company lost money.
Earnings yield
What the business earns on its price, so it lines up with a savings rate.
How it's worked out
Earnings per share divided by the share price — the price-to-earnings ratio turned over.
How to read it
If a company earns 17% against its price and a T-bill pays 12%, you can finally compare the two. It is what the business earns, not what it pays you — the dividend yield is the cash that reaches your account.
Dividend yield
Cash paid out over the last year as a percentage of today's price.
How it's worked out
Dividends per share over twelve months divided by the share price.
How to read it
A very high yield is often a warning, not a gift: it usually means the price fell. Check the payout ratio next to see whether earnings actually cover it.
Price, earnings and growth together
The price per rupee earned, measured against how fast earnings are growing.
How it's worked out
The price-to-earnings ratio divided by the three-year growth rate of earnings per share.
How to read it
Under 1 is the old rule of thumb for a multiple that growth justifies. Blank when earnings are shrinking, because the ratio flips sign and stops meaning anything.
vs the KSE-100's own multiple
Whether a rupee of this company's earnings costs more or less than the market's.
How it's worked out
Its price-to-earnings ratio against the KSE-100's, which we compute as the total market cap of the index over the total earnings of its members.
How to read it
−30% means it trades thirty percent below the market's multiple. Below the market is a question, not an answer: often the market is right about why.
Total return, one year
What a holder actually made, dividends included.
How it's worked out
The price move over twelve months plus every cash dividend paid in that window, counted as received on its ex-date.
How to read it
Every other PSX site quotes the price move alone. On a market yielding what this one does, that understates what holders made by a third or more.
— from dividends
The part of the year's return that arrived as cash.
How it's worked out
Dividends per share over the year divided by the price twelve months ago.
How to read it
The half of the return a price chart cannot show you. For many PSX names it is most of it.
Price impact per Rs 1M
How much a Rs 1,000,000 order moves the price on a typical day.
How it's worked out
We take the size of the price move on each day and divide it by the money traded that day, then scale it to a Rs 1,000,000 order. We use the middle value over the last year. Traders call this the Amihud ratio. It is shown in basis points: 100 basis points is 1%, so 0.07 basis points is 0.0007%.
How to read it
A small number means an order of this size barely moves the price. A large number means the price moves a lot when someone buys or sells this much.
Position in 52-week range
Where today's price sits between the year's low and high.
How it's worked out
Zero at the 52-week low, 100 at the high.
How to read it
Near 100 is strength or froth; near 0 is a bargain or a falling knife. The number tells you where you are, never which of the two.
Trend read
A plain-English summary of what the price series has been doing.
How it's worked out
Built from moving averages, momentum, the 52-week position and drawdown, and held for three sessions before it changes so it does not flip on noise.
How to read it
It describes the past and names its reasons. It is not a recommendation, and it knows nothing about the company.
No trade has been recorded for GIL since 26 Sep 2024 — 754 days before 20 Oct 2026. The figures on this page are from that session.
SuperX holds 6 dated events for GIL: 4 ex-dividend dates and 2 exchange filings. They are all listed below. Tick Ex-dividends to show the ex-dividend dates on the chart.
Coming up: 7 Oct 2024: Ex-dividend Rs 3; 14 Oct 2024: board meeting; 29 Oct 2024: financial results; and 20 more. They come after the last price on the chart (26 Sep 2024), so they are not drawn.
Prices are adjusted for dividends, splits and bonus shares wherever the exchange published an adjustment. Where it did not, the chart shows the plain closing price. So on some ex-dividend dates the line still drops by the dividend, and on others the drop has already been taken out.

Reading the GIL chart
The line is Good Luck Industries Ltd.'s closing price for each trading day on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. It updates after each session and is not live. The 52-week range is not available for this symbol.
GIL opens with the KSE-100 beside it. Press Compare and both lines start at zero on the left edge of the chart. That lets you compare a Rs 997 share with an index in the thousands.
The study boxes, such as moving averages and volume, apply to the main line, which is GIL when the page opens. Moving averages use the whole history, not only what you can see, so a 200-day average stays a 200-day average when you zoom in to one month. Ex-dividend markers come from the exchange's own book-closure notices.
